I really started focusing on my desire to be an artist in the 7th grade when I took my first official art class, met my best friend because she was a rival artist and had to seek out the new student who had drawn a six foot Jerry mouse that was hanging on the art room wall. I aspired to draw for Disney. Having someone admire my art other than my family propelled my desire to share my works.
I never wanted to be a "starving artist" I pursued a more traditional career path.
During my late twenties I was a Flight Attendant and found myself with much more time off than the regular Monday - Friday job and enrolled in a community college. The goal was to get a degree and take some art classes along the way. I found the basic art classes haven't expanded my talent nor propelled me to where I want to be with my art, so I continue to paint and practice on my own. I have had more insight and enhanced ability in the recent year through Youtube videos by artist whom style is close to how I want to paint.
I am inspired to paint Hawaiian scenery, more over custom Hawaiian scenery that matches the client's home/office decor. Custom painted in the color scheme of the client intended space.
